Komodo Dubs with
!!!!!!! LD !!!!!!!
Spring+Summer edition!
1. LD (Hyperdub, London)
North American premier!!!
Cutting-edge producer and badman DJ, with heavy-hitting cuts out on Hyperdub, 2nd Drop, Dub Police and Ringo Records, LD is already a legend in the UK for his highly original, synth-inflected and percussive tracks. Now he is set to make an exclusive and first-ever North American appearance at Komodo Dubs on Saturday May 15th. Also worth noting, when LD isn't tearing up dancefloors or producing next-level bass music, he's working at Transition Studios, where all the biggest names in dubstep have had their tracks mastered. So you can bet LD will be bringing one of the sickest collections of exclusive and unreleased tunes imaginable...
http://www.myspace.com/transitionld
2. Corey K
One of the mightiest drum&bass DJs in the city, Corey K is also co-producer of The Session and the Long Dark Tunnel nights in Montreal, and it is an honour and a pleasure to have him join us on May 15th. Corey is planning an extra special set of ultra-modern beat science, a sound that is currently being pioneered by the likes of D-Bridge, Instra:mental and Breakage. For lovers of stylish darkside dance music and future wave D&B, this is a set not to be missed!
3. 11:11 + AnarKid
We are very excited to be presenting up-and-coming Montreal duo 11:11, who will be playing a live set of 100% original material! Their sound fuses down-tempo dub, percussion and hypnotizing bass with elements of ancient music traditions from around the world. They will also be joined by the very talented AnarKid, who is preparing a special video performance to accompany 11:11's live set.
4. Hosta
Explosive dynamics and ridiculously low-end bass is what it's all about. If it were possible to visualise these kinds of sounds, it might look something like this ;-)
http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/04/more_from_eyjafjallajokull.html
5. Komodo
Enjoys candle-lit dinners, long walks along the beach, and the fact that there will be absolutely no volume limits on the [SAT] sound system. Expect more bass than ever for this latest edition of Komodo Dubs :-)
6. Pink Rubber Lady & TIND
With the new room configuation at the [SAT], Pink Rubber Lady and TIND will once again have an opportunity to present their striking visuals with unprecedented freedom. If the last show is anything to go by, we are in store for yet another set of stunning VJ performances!

Komodo Dubs double bill:
RSD (UK) + Maÿd Hubb (FR)!!!!!!!
3rd Year ANNIVERSARY!!!
A night of dub and bass music from around the world!
1. RSD (UK), aka Rob Smith from the legendary drum 'n' bass / trip-hop duo Smith & Mighty. RSD's production work in the 1990s (including for Massive Attack) helped lay the foundations for both the trip hop and jungle scenes which Bristol has become so famous for. His sound is the perfect intersection of dub and step, with heavy bass lines, jungle vibes, and wicked beats blending seamlessly in one dancefloor smasher after another. A quick listen to some of his tracks in the links below will show you exactly how he's going to tear it up on April 17th.
2. Maÿd Hubb (France). A major player from the innovative dub scene in France, Maÿd Hubb is a master of the classic French dub sound, blending different world music traditions into a round-the-world journey rooted in heavy skanking bass.
3. LEXIS. Local Montreal badman and prolific producer of the "Music Is My Sanctuary" podcasts, DJ Lexis will be ripping it up on the decks with all kinds of bass-heavy forgotten treasures and future classics. Check his fantastic mixes at
http://www.musicismysanctuary.com/
4. HOSTA, co-producer of the Komodo Dubs shows, has been mining for gold, and trust me -- he has found some. Party on!
5. Next level visuals thanks once again to the amazing VJs Pink Rubber Lady and TIND, who are joined this time by special guest Johnny Ranger!
6. KOMODO recently headlined GOTH-TRAD's "Back to Chill" shows in Tokyo and Osaka (Japan), and is cooking up some fresh surprises inspired by this recent trip to the far east.

Komodo Dubs double bill:
Shackleton (LIVE) + Razor Rekta!!!!!!!
The Komodo Dubs series is kicking off 2010 with a killer line-up!!!!
1. SHACKLETON (Perlon, Skull Disco, Mordant Music). The man, the legend, the pioneering producer. Shackleton is a composer in his own league, creating contemporary bass music for the new decade and the new century. A rare *live* performance, not to be missed!!! Check out a recent Shackleton mix here!
2. RAZOR REKTA (Anti Social, UK). Badman DJ from the highly respected London crew, Anti Social Entertainment. Razor Rekta is known for pushing the soulful, deep and banging sounds of dubstep, and we are truly thrilled to have him represent the latest London sounds on the [SAT] sound system. Expect big things.
3. BUS (MTL Funky, ESL). Always a crowd favourite and very dynamic on stage, BUS will be dropping a wild and pumping set of UK Funky and other tasty treats to kick the night into overdrive.
4. MR BUMP aka paul autonomic (deeptime.net, riddim.ca). Incredible! Another master "selectah" and a headliner in his own right, Mr. Bump is reaching into the archives to drop the original business: dark bouncy garage and early grime beats. For anyone who wants to work up a sweat to the sounds of this sexy bass music (the origins of dubstep), be there early for this rare treat.
5. KOMODO vs HOSTA. A very special performance, Komodo on the instruments, Hosta on the decks, and anything could happen, though one thing is for sure: it's going to be fire!!! Featuring the latest dubs from Komodo, and Hosta's favourite tunes from around the world, be ready for live action dubstep madness!
6. PINK RUBBER LADY & TIND. Stunning images, a visual journey, a feast for the eyes!

Komodo vs. Lubo & Kaba Horo
Lubo and Kaba Horo are well known for their caffeinated mix of energetic, wild Balkan Gypsy songs that blend urban funk, rock, and jazz grooves with rousing Eastern European and Middle Eastern melodies. Komodo is a musician and DJ who specialises in playing fast dub basslines on the Australian didgeridoo, as well as producing heavy beats and bass, and playing an assortment of other instruments such as Turkish flute, frame drum and Chinese percussion. His live performances involve playing a variety of these instruments in quick succession, while making the dancefloor shake to his latest DJ tracks.
On Friday, November 27th, both musicians (Lubo with his band, Komodo with his arsenal of instruments and digital tools), will each tell his side of the musical story, but unlike any other night, they are also going to do something very special on this night, by literally combining forces on stage to tell a third story. They are calling this colliding of musical worlds "Balkan Gypsy Dub Rave", but no matter what you call it, it has world premiere, party-groove, and dancefloor action written all over it!

2. KARL HAZE, a cornerstone of eastern Canada's jungle / drum&bass / breakbeat scene, he is a flawless badman on the decks, as well as a top notch producer (Counterweight), with releases on such labels as Shift Music, Function Records and Underground Soundz.
3. KOMODO, who always has a few surprises up his sleeve, will be featuring his new collaboration with DJG, which recently premiered on Mary Anne Hobbs' show on BBC Radio1.
4. SHARIVARI will be bringing the latest cuts in UK Funky and dubstep, while
DJ INYOURFACE's - set will feature all brand new original tunes *and* a live vocalist -- sick!! Gotta be there early for this one, do not sleep!
5. DJ HOSTA, the dark, crazy and self-loathing half of Komodo Dubs, knows that if you are still reading this, you will be dancing to some sick tunes on his set, braap!

Komodo Dubs with
2562!!!!!
Komodo Dubs is proud to present one of the legends of the dubstep scene: 2562. Hailing from the Netherlands, 2562 blends dubstep and techno sounds with devastating results: deep, emotional tunes with plenty of groove, and heavy on the bass, naturally! He's also a killer DJ!!
Also on the line-up are Komodo (live with instruments, and new dubs fresh from the studio!), Komodo Dubs co-producer and monster behind the decks, DJ Hosta, as well as Montreal Forward Music's very own Wally (definitely one to watch), and a blazing up-and-comer, and also our first female guest DJ at Komodo Dubs, the one and only R-Star!
Our favourite video installation artist, Matt Williston, is back to set the visual mood and take your eyes on a journey, along with VJs Pink Rubber Lady and TIND. It may be cold this month in Montreal but it's going to be hot inside the place come Friday the 30th!!

The afternoon begins with a live performance by Montreal’s Komodo, one of this city’s up-and-coming dubstep producers. Dutch producer-of-the-moment Martyn drops in for a sun-drenched dubstep set, before handing the stage over to a set from the ambassadors of the genre, the white-hot duo of Kode 9 & Space Ape.
