The dubstep ambassador of North America, Joe Nice, touches down in Montreal for the first time on Saturday, November 22nd. This show is going to be huge. Also headlining the evening is none other than Vancouver's Michael Red, a very big player in the west coast dubstep scene.

Local Montreal producer Komodo will perform a live set featuring the latest of his "Komodo Dubs", and the always versatile DJ Hosta, along with Jack from the Dubstep Experiment, will be there to rep the latest international dubstep sounds from London and beyond.

"Dubstep Experiment Farewell Party"

Sad but true, Sase One and Jack, the dynamic duo that make up the Dubstep Experiment, are both leaving town, so we are going to give them a royal bass-heavy send off at this edition of Komodo Dubs. At the same time, we're very proud to introduce one of the freshest new talents on the Montreal scene, a man who goes by the name of Mad Eskimo, and he is doing some seriously next-level bizness! Rounding out the evening are myself (Komodo) and DJ Hosta, so it's gonna be one helluva jam from beginning to end — not to be missed!!

Myself and Jan Pienkowski will be collaborating on each of these dates with some of Québec's top First Nations artists (including Nathalie Picard, Samian, Shauit, Odaya, Mad Eskimo, Sylvain Rivard, Igloo Lounge, DJ Millimetrik, DJ Sapin, Sakay Ottawa, Mike O'Cleary, and many others), where we will be DJing and playing music live inside the SAT[osphere], a giant dome that is an immersive audio-visual environment, with 8.1 surround sound and live video projected on the entire inner surface of the dome, courtesy of video artists Ambroise Vesac, TIND and Jocool.

The return of the incredibly popular MUTEK collaboration with Piknic Electronik! Here, the two organizations join forces for the first of two outdoor showcases, MUTEK//PIKNIC 1, a world-class line-up of dubstep and new bass on Saturday at 2 pm at Parc Jean Drapeau. The afternoon begins with a live performance by Montreal’s Komodo, one of this city’s up-and-coming dubstep producers. Dutch producer-of-the-moment Martyn drops in for a sun-drenched dubstep set, before handing the stage over to a set from the ambassadors of the genre, the white-hot duo of Kode 9 & Space Ape. The critically acclaimed Warp signee Flying Lotus, eager to take the bass friction even lower, will make the sun set to a throbbing low end.
